Complications ... Prayer Request

I've been putting off blogging about this because it just breaks my heart, but here goes ...

My sister, Lauren, has been back in the hospital since Saturday night.

As you may know from previous posts, she had a baby boy on May 27th. She and Baby James were released from the hospital on Friday around lunchtime. Everything seemed to be going fine... she was feeling ok and happy to be home with the baby. Then Friday night she started running a fever. They were told to go back to the Assessment Center at the hospital on Saturday morning. She saw the doctor on call and was told that her incision from her c-section was getting infected. They gave her a prescription for antibiotics and sent her back home. Well, by Saturday night ... her fever was even higher! They called the doctor who told them to go back to the hospital so that she could be re-admitted. Thankfully, they are allowing the baby to "room-in" with her so that she isn't separated from her beautiful baby.

Anyway, today is Wednesday and she is still there. Apparently it's one of those things that has to get worse before it gets better. They doctors have been able to do a culture from some of the icky stuff and are waiting for the results to be final. Based on the preliminary results, it appears to be a bad Staph Infection of some sort. So, for now she is on several different medicines and is doing the best she can,

She is in the hands of a very, very capable doctor. The nurses at the hospital have been wonderful! Right now though, she can't get in and out of the bed too much and when she does, it's pretty painful for her. Plus, Baby James hasn't been re-admitted as a patient so the hospital staff isn't responsible for his care. For now, we are all taking turns staying with her at the hospital to help take care of Baby James and help Lauren with whatever she may need.

Please pray for her. Pray for healing of her physical body and for her to feel God's presence in a very real, strong way. This of course isn't what she envisioned for herself and/or her family. But, our God knows what is going on and He can and will take care of her. We trust in that completely.
